An update from BE & WMBL

Basketball activities set to increase in the coming months, but no indoor basketball just yet.

Basketball England released their latest statement 09th July in response to the government announcement that indoor gyms and sports facilities will be able to reopen from 25th July. It was also announced that grass roots sports will begin returning over the next few months.

Currently BE have advised we are at Level 3 of their Return to Play Roadmap, which advises no indoor basketball for local teams and continued social distancing. Basketball England will post an update when it is possible to move to Level 2 (indoor, full-contact) of their Roadmap.

The WMBL remains committed to ramping up to a new season in conjunction with government and BE guidelines, so please remember to submit your entry form for the 2020/21 season. A reminder that payment for entry has been suspended until a firm timetable for the season can be established.

WMBL would like to encourage everyone to stay and safe and follow the government guidelines. The better we can control the spread of this virus as we relax safety measures, the sooner we will be able to get back to playing the game we love without negatively impacting our communities, local businesses and health service.

In the meantime keep getting those shots up on the concrete!
